About Us

Sin Fronteras Lab examines family and cultural factors that promote healthy development of Latinx youth and families. Through engaging in community-based participatory research (CBPR) we examine the role undocumented immigrant status plays in family processes and adolescents’ outcomes, as well as the protective effects of ethnic-racial socialization and identity development through qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methodologies. Our mission is to empower youth and families and develop efficacious, culturally grounded, and community-based interventions that support the mental health of Latinx adolescents.

Featured Research Projects

At Sin Fronteras Lab, we are dedicated to empowering Latinx families and youth through collaborative research and community involvement that address the specific needs of these communities.
