The Latinx Mental Health Collaborative (LMHC) is a group of professionals from diverse sectors who come together to address mental health disparities in the local Latinx community in Washtenaw County, Michigan. The LMHC was formed in 2021 with Buenos Vecinos, a Latinx-led and accountable community-based organization, Amplify Colectivo, a Latinx-owned group mental health practice, Washtenaw Health Project, a safety net healthcare program, Ypsilanti High School, and the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan. The Collaborative seeks to increase access to healthcare and mental health services, build community, and empower youth and families. The primary project of the LMHC is the Youth Empowerment Series (YES!) that aims to provide direct mental health intervention at a local high school for Latinx youth from mixed-status families.
